Ma lui non lo sa, non deve saperlo. Ecco venuto il tempo, breve, lungo, poroso, chiuso, delle prove; o, per meglio dire, alla tedesca, della "probe", della sperimentazione. Rimanere in ascolto di un mondo, nella penombra del suo foro interiore; provare, cancellare, rispondere, cercare altrove, ritornare (i dipinti sotto il dipinto); calmare i pazzi, infervorare i saggi, stupirsi di ciò che è familiare, addomesticare ciò che è sconosciuto, un giorno dopo l'altro, creare il vuoto, essere soltanto vacuità, corpo attraversato dalla parola, dallo scritto parlato che s'incarna e s'incendia, che era già li e non lo sapevamo. Un giorno, finalmente, la rappresentazione ha luogo, nel suo spazio e nella sua durata e nella preziosità rara di ciò che meglio la caratterizza: il suo ritmo, il suo tempo, la musicalità della composizione. Nel teatro è quel che si chiama il giorno della prima. Lui spera che lo spettacolo continuerà a germinare, a "lavorare" il corpo, la voce dell'attore, fino all'ultima replica e forse anche dopo, nelle veglie delle sue notti e nei sogni dei suoi giorni. Lo spettacolo-figlio avrà forza di vivere oltre il suo pensiero ? muoverà i primi passi solo dell’amore di padre? Ma fin dalla prima l'essenzĂale è pronto: il pubblico può entrare, il regista farsi da parte. A dire il vero lui non c'è già più, presente ovunque ma dissolto, abolito o forze solo paralizzato, dissipato in ogni gesto, in ogni movimento, spostamento, in ogni silenzio in ogni parola enunciata.
